Crazy Ladies 2026!

Our Ugly Bugs and Crazy Ladies courses are back for 2026. Join the gals of the Ugly Bug for fish talk, fly tying, guided fishing and a little bit of wine drinkin.

What to Expect: 

First and foremost.. we keep it light, we keep it fun. Whatever you experience level is, we have the class for you. The first two days of class are taught by the ladies who work at the Ugly Bug, followed by a final full day float with one of our top notch fishing guides. Our goal is to make fly fishing more comfortable and accessible for all women. We provide all of the gear to tie, cast and fish. All you need is a desire to try something new, and willingness to listen to all of our jokes. You might even make a few fishing friends along the way! 

Our 101 offers the basics.. basic knot tying, casting, fly tying. You will meet us downtown at the fly shop for the first two evenings. Night one will be fly tying here in the shop, learning a few patterns, followed by some basic entomology and knot tying. Night two we walk over to the park to practice casting and talk basic rod and reel setup and most importantly, conservation. Day 3 is a full day float on the Grey Reef with one of our guides! 

Dates: July 9-11 & July 23-25

Our 201 encourages independence. You will learn how to rig up on your own rod, select the proper flies, and read water all on your own!  Night one we meet at the fly shop downtown for an evening of fly tying and focusing on some more advanced patterns. Day 2 is a half day walk and wade trip in Fremont Canyon to put your skills to the test. Day 3 is a full day float on the Miracle Mile with one of our guides.
