WOMEN IN FLY FISHING

Advanced Fly Fishing is brought to you by Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and the Ugly Bug Fly Shop. Ugly Bugs and Crazy Ladies is an annual event catering specifically to women in the sport of fly fishing. Inspired by the Orvis 50/50 campaign, we wanted to give women some options for learning how to fish in an environment that mitigates an often-intimidating skill to learn. Through this progressive program, we have made the sport of fly fishing more accessible and comfortable for all women.

Did we mention this all takes place on the famous Grey Reef section of the North Platte River? That’s right! Learn to cast, tie knots and flies, read water, get familiar with entomology, wade fish, and then guided during peak season.

Our 201 course is designed to ‘up the ante’ when it comes to being self-sufficient on the water. The 201 offers a natural progression to the 101 as we begin to dig a bit deeper in the science and art of fly fishing.

How it will look:

Day 1: We meet at the Ugly Bug Fly Shop to tie some flies from 6pm-8pm. Talk entomology, conservation and more.

Day 2: Meet at the lodge for a half day walk and wade trip. We show you how to properly rig your rod, read water, and select bugs. This all takes place in the beautiful Fremont Canyon.

Day 3: Meet at the lodge once again for a full day float on the famous Miracle Mile with one of our experienced guides.

DATES: This year's 201 course will be held October 17th-19th.

We have plenty of room left, and we'd love to have ya! Please reach out to the Ugly Bug Fly Shop for any questions! 307-234-6905
